Gucci is Going Fur-Free Because ... "It's Not Modern."

Gucci may have sent a $19,000 statement powder pink fur coat down the runway for Fall/Winter 2016 and a $41,000 snake embroidered one for Resort, but those days are gone, according to the brand's CEO Marco Bizzarri, who was on hand at the 2017 Kering Talk at the London College of Fashion. On Wednesday, Bizzarri announced that the Italian brand is going fur-free, beginning with creative director Alessandro Michele's Spring 2018 collection for the house, which went down the runway in Milan last month.
