Following his abrupt ouster in October 2015 and the ugly aftermath, complete with threats of a defamation lawsuit, Alber Elbaz has been removed from Lanvin SA’s board of directors this week. According to a report from WWD, Elbaz’s ejection was decided at a brief, technical board meeting on Monday. A Lanvin spokeswoman characterized the procedure as routine: “Since the contract has been ended a few months ago, the board decided to remove him.”
Elbaz’s firing in October came on the heels of a fourteen-year tenure with the Paris-based design house. The fashion house has already appointed Elbaz’s successor, Bouchra Jarrar, who will make her debut as the creative director of women’s collections this upcoming September during the Spring/Summer 2017 show season.
