Australian fashion designer Alex Perry is facing scrutiny this week for the casting of his Spring/Summer 2014 show at Fashion Week Australia. Perry told Australian Today Show hosts Lisa Wilkinson and Karl Stefanovic that he shouldn't have put such thin models on the runway. One model, in particular, is garnering most of the attention: Cassi Van Den Dungen, a 21-year old Australian model, who was discovered after starring on Australia's Next Top Model in 2009. She has since walked for Calvin Klein, Giles, Maiyet, Miu Miu, and Dion Lee, among others and signed with Next Model Management in New York, Milan and Paris. As for the casting of his show, Perry said: "It's not an image I think is good to put forward. It was a serious lack of judgment on my part that I let that happen. I'm not excusing it at all because I don't think it's right, but 14 hour days, you try to get everything finished in time … I'm putting my hands up, it was wrong, it was the wrong image to present."
