After poaching a number of fashion industry insiders, Apple is teaming up with one of the most iconic brands of all: Hermès. Today at its "Hey Siri" event in San Francisco, the tech giant announced a partnership with the Paris-based brand, known for its $10k+ Birkin bags, to create a special Apple Watch collection called Apple Watch Hermès. Per Mac Rumors, “the new collection will feature three brand new bands and watch faces. The three leather bands come in three different styles: a leather double loop that wraps around the wrist twice, a buckle and a simple and more classic-looking watch band. The three watch faces reflect Hermès’s branding.” As for prices and availability: the watch costs $1,100 for the 38 mm stainless steel case with the Single Tour; $1,150 for the 42 mm stainless steel case with the Single Tour; $1,250 for the 38 mm stainless steel case with the Double Tour and $1,500 for the 42 mm stainless steel case with the Cuff. The collection will be available at select Apple retail stores, select Hermès stores, specialty stores and department stores beginning October 5th.
UPDATE: The Apple Watch Hermès collection is not available to purchase online, and can only be found in a handful of Apple and Hermès stores across the globe. For example, in North America, the Hermès variant of the Apple Watch is only available in Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco, and Toronto.
