Demna Gvasalia’s first Balenciaga campaign is here. According to a number of sources, a recently leaked image is reportedly part of the Paris-based house’s first eyewear campaign under Gvasalia’s direction. As you may recall, the Vetements founder took the helm from Alexander Wang last year, subsequently making his debut in March with his Fall/Winter 2016 womenswear collection.
As for the rumored ad, Brooklyn-based model Marland Backus — who walked for both Balenciaga and Vetements this season — is front and center, reportedly styled by Gvasalia's go-to collaborator, Lotta Volkova. The graphic printed fur jacket that appears in the campaign did not debut on the fall runway, but as Fashionista suggests, perhaps it is part of the pre-fall collection that's been kept tightly under wraps?
