VICTORIA BECKHAM, Stella McCartney, Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne are among the most influential people in the country, according to manners and etiquette expert Debrett's. The specialist publisher, which has compiled an encyclopedic list of the British aristocracy since 1769, asked experts in more than 25 fields - from fashion and film to sport and theatre - to select the 500 names making an impact in the country today.
Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman joined designers including Christopher Kane and Phoebe Philo in the fashion category, while Dame Helen Mirren was recognized in the theatre category for her influential turn as the Queen in West End play The Audience. Emma Thompson featured in the male-dominated film category, along with Carey Mulligan, and much-talked-about 12 Years A Slave director Steve McQueen also received a mention.
"Debrett's is combining the launch and celebration of the 500 with the launch of the Debrett's Foundation - which is being established to support, champion and inspire social mobility to ensure that the next generation of leaders are from all backgrounds," the organization explained.
