Burberry, Dior, Saint Laurent Tied to Animal Cruelty

Burberry, Christian Dior and Saint Laurent have spoken out against claims that they source rabbit fur from farms known for animal cruelty, according to British Vogue. Just in time for New York Fashion Week, Last Chance for Animals, a Los Angeles-based non-profit organization dedicated to fighting for animal welfare, completed its two years investigation of 70 rabbit farms in Spain, and is alleging that brands including Marc Jacobs, Diane von Furstenberg, Burberry, Dior, Giorgio Armani, Saint Laurent and Louis Vuitton have used farms employing animal cruelty, despite having evidence of such actions.

And these are only a handful of the names of brands accused of buying fur from some 40 farms surveyed during the undercover investigation. While representatives for Marc Jacobs, Diane von Furstenberg, and Giorgio Armani did not respond to requests for comment, Burberry, Christian Dior and Saint Laurent have denied involvement with the fur suppliers at issue.
