Legendary Musician Prince Dies at 57

The legendary musician Prince has died at age 57, as confirmed by the Associated Press. He was briefly hospitalized last week for what representatives said was a flu; this morning, a death was reported at his Paisley Park estate in Minneapolis, and the AP now says that Prince is the individual who died. Born Prince Rogers Nelson in Minneapolis on June 7, 1958, the musician became a superstar after the release in 1982 of his album, entitled, 1999. But it is his iconic track, Purple Rain, released in 1984, for which he’s probably best known. In his lifetime, Prince sold over 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling artists of all time.
