In case you want to learn more about the less-than-authentic (and yet undisclosed) nature of fashion week, here's a tip. Those celebrities that you see sitting in the front row of shows, aren't exactly there because they are interested. In case you weren't sure, these big names are more likely than not being paid to show their faces and sit front row at shows, and the Hollywood Reporter is naming names.
Turns out, Girls' Allison Williams, Rihanna, Beyonce, Blake Lively, Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lawrence, and Chloe Sevigny, are all paid, dressed, transported, and/or housed to some extent (depending on their star power) to sit front row. Others, such an Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, Charlize Theron, Kristen Stewart, Lana Del Rey and Alexa Chung, are likely contractually obligated to attend the shows of their respective brands.
Portman, Kunis and Theron have been the faces of Dior. Stewart fronts the Balenciaga fragrance campaign. Alexa Chung and Lana have a Mulberry bag named after her. The one obvious exception is Chanel, which apparently stars will gladly attend (if Karl extends an invitation) for free!
