Iceberg's Alexis Martial May be Headed to Carven

A significant round of fashion musical chairs has been underway for the past several months. Peter Copping is out at Nina Ricci; Carven's Guillaume Henry is leaving the Paris-based design house and is headed to Nina Ricci; Oscar de la Renta, which had been searching for someone to succeed the house's founder, named Copping the man for the job just days before the death of Mr. de la Renta; and the rumors that were swirling that John Galliano had landed the top position at Maison Martin Margiela were finally confirmed, as well. And last but not least, Mulberry ended its long search to replace its former creative director, announcing that it had hired Johnny Coca, the former head design director for leather goods, accessories, shoes and jewellery at Céline. This means that an open spot remains at Carven. Well, according to our friends at British Vogue, Alexis Martial, Iceberg's Paris-born creative director, is rumored to take the helm at Carven. Prior to joining the Iceberg team in 2013 (and significantly upping its Paris Fashion Week show status), Martial trained in haute couture and worked at Givenchy and Paco Rabanne.
