The world's top modeling agency IMG, which represents everyone from Gisele and Joan Smalls to Tara Lynn (who is pictured below), is starting an initiative to sign models of all shapes, sizes, ages, races, and heights. "We want to be an ageless, raceless, weightless agency. We just want to represent the best people in the industry" IMG Models Senior Vice President and Managing Director Ivan Bart told Cosmopolitan on Saturday. According to Cosmo, IMG won't single out these new signees in their own division, but instead, will feature them on the agency's main board alongside its current roster of supermodels. As for what has lead IMG to welcome a broader roster? Bart says: "I feel like the consumer wants to see themselves. Sure, there are women who are naturally thin and can fit into sample sizes, and the plus size market begins at a size 12, but where is the average consumer represented from a size 2 to 10?" In addition to sounding optimistic about the future of the industry, Bart makes a good point about change: "I feel like the best way is to change the industry is from within."
