The New York Times caught up with the woman who has come closest to actually #breakingtheinternet as of late, and it is not Kim K. Instead, it is 80-year old author, Joan Didion, who stars in Paris-based "it" brand Celine's Spring/Summer 2015 ad campaign. Of the much talked about advertisement, Didion says she did not anticipate such a frenzy. In fact, when asked if she was aware of the sensation she caused, the author of “The White Album,” “Slouching Towards Bethlehem” and “The Year of Magical Thinking" says: “I don’t have any clue. I have no idea.” As for how the campaign came about, Didion said: "They got in touch with me,” and elaborated saying that she is a fan of the brand and that she is "fortunate enough to own a few” of their things, though she declined to specify which.
While Didion, who resides in New York, has never attended a Céline fashion show, it sounds as though that may be about to change. Didion told the New York Times that she "would love to." So, stay tuned. Didion very well be the most exciting front row show-goer of the Fall/Winter 2015 season come March.
