While things are looking up for John Galliano, 53, as he was just named creative director for Russian perfumery, L'Etiole, the same cannot be said for his namesake label. The designer's label will not be show its Spring/Summer 2015 menswear collection in Paris next month, as usual. The brand, which has been under the direction of designer Bill Gaytten since Galliano's ousting in 2011 after he was caught on tape making anti-Semitic remarks, is not listed on the initial show calendar that was published by the French Fashion Federation today.
Rumor has it the label's management is currently seeking a new manufacturing partner, and aims to return to Paris men's week next year January. John Gallano is one of the many European fashion brands that have been affected by high end Italian manufacturer, Ittierre SpA's financial struggles. Early this year, the firm, which used to produce the Paris-based label's menswear line, turned to the Court of Isernia in Italy for aid in avoiding bankruptcy.
