In case you care, the Kanye West x A.P.C. collection is really happening. The rapper's collaboration, which AP.C. confirmed this morning, is set to debut on July 14th. The three-piece capsule will consist of one style of denim, a t-shirt, and a hoodie. Rumors have been swirling about the collection since West was spotted leaving A.P.C.'s Paris studio earlier this year, and given Kanye's public friendship with founder/designer Jean Touitou, we aren't too surprised. Be sure to check out some of the reviews the self-proclaimed "God" has received for his forays in fashion thus far after the break ...
Cathy Horyn: [Kardashian] may finally ignite West’s fashion career, though it means the rest of us will have to hear from him what a design innovator he is and why he doesn’t get enough respect, as I heard myself one evening last fall in Paris.
Eric Wilson: Kanye displayed an "utter lack of self-awareness." [Other interesting bits from Wilson's article: "Ms. Lohan almost single-handedly destroyed a French ready-to-wear label during a single season, as artistic adviser to Emanuel Ungaro two years ago. You wonder if Mr. West knows the difference."]
Lisa Armstrong, Telegraph fashion editor: "Kanye West's fashion debut was like being subjected to an hour long MRI scan—but not as much fun."
Meenal Mistry, Style.com contributor, via twitter: "To quote my wise former boss Bridget Foley: I sit in chairs, but it doesn't mean I can be a furniture designer." #kanyelagerfeld
Anna Wintour: "Ask someone else."
