The Fashion Law Exclusive - Graffiti artist Kidult tagged Marc Jacobs' Soho New York store last year after the Met Gala, and now he's at it again. You may recall that last year, Marc Jacobs took a photo of his graffiti-covered store front, put it on a shirt with the caption Art by Art Jacobs, and sold it in the store for $686. Following the release of MJ's t-shirt, Kidult took to his Twitter to blast Jacobs for selling the tee. We had basically forgotten about the incident until recently when Kidult tagged Marc Jacobs’ Paris branch with the number 686 and some dollar signs, a reference to the pricing for the “Art by Art Jacobs” t-shirts.
And like clockwork, MJ has released a tee, even though his last one reportedly didn't sell so well. The designer took to his FB page saying: "If you're inspired by the MJ x Kidult installation, you can buy a tee shirt! $686 unsigned, $430 signed. Available only at Marc Jacobs Collection Paris" and "The new MJ x Kidult will be up all week at Marc Jacobs Collection Paris for your viewing pleasure. 34 Rue De Montpensier." Tell us what you think of the shirts and let me know if you think Jacobs and Kidult are actually in on this together ... I'm beginning to think this is a collaboration!
