The Fashion Law Exclusive - Louis Vuitton may now be under the creative direction of Nicolas Ghesquière, but the spirit (and designs) of Marc Jacobs remain. Most obviously: the Spring/Summer 2014 bags, the ones from his last collection for the legendary Paris-based design house. Well, Louis Vuitton took to its Twitter recently to share some news. The "extraordinary NN 14 bags from Marc Jacobs' final Louis Vuitton collection" are available for pre-order. The NN style, an ode to the house's iconic drawstring Noé purse, has certainly gotten a modern touch by Jacobs (think: feathers, alligator skin, crocodile skin, and Swarovski crystals). The basic monogram printed NN 14 GM stylw is the least expensive of the range, costing just over $2,000. Boring it is in comparison, however, to the Audace style, which is decorated with 76 hand-applied blacked metal studs, creating "an edgy vibe that captures the essence of the [S/S 2014] show," as well as the Fatale, which is made of a "precious alligator skin" and comes in black, fuscia, and blue, with a $20,600 price tag. Jacobs' true finales, however, must be the feathered Belle de Nuit and the Show Girl styles. Both are "strictly limited, numbered edition" bags.
The Belle de Nuit is "embellished with a dazzling array of studs and feathers" which took "six days to apply by hand." That bag will set you back nearly $25,000. Last but not least, the Show Girl bag is "embellished with a dazzling array of studs and Swarovski crystals and enhanced with inserts of alligator skin." That one will cost you $31,500, and depending on how big of a fan you are, it is worth every cent. See some of them below and share your thoughts in the comments section!
