In November 2011, designer Nary Manivong told the Examiner that "sometime in the future you will definitely see a new collection from me." It looks like the time is now. The designer shut down his brand with fashion design royalty, Ally Hilfiger, in September, but it appears that Nary is going back to his roots and is back to work on his namesake label. Manivong is launching his collection for Fall 2013. According to WWD, it will be priced between the contemporary and designer tiers and unveiled to retailers during next month’s market.
Manivong has gained quite a bit of buzz himself after launching his namesake collection in 2009. He was nominated for the Fashion Group International Rising Star Women’s Ready-to-Wear Award in 2009 & 2010. He also stars in the much-buzzed about documentary, DRESSED, which chronicles his story from homelessness to the runway. Known for his elegant take on wardrobe staples, we are excited to see what he has up his sleeves for Fall 2013.
