NYFW: The Kanye West x Adidas Collection Was Very "Inspired"

So, our friends over at Racked did it. They went look by look through Kanye West's heavily "influenced" Adidas Originals collection, which he debuted yesterday during New York Fashion Week, and matched the rapper's looks for Adidas up with the designers who did them first (think: Martin Margiela, Helmut Lang and Raf Simons mostly). Also noted by the Racked team is the three plus pages of comments on fashion forum site, The Fashion Spot, dedicated to a game of "name the inspiration." One comment: "As a whole, this collection looks like the riot collection of Raf. The bulletproof vest? Helmut Lang circa '98. The oversized bombers? Helmut Lang/Raf Simons circa 2002. The concept of the 'nude body' is just Margiela, with the boots and everything. The rest is half Rick Owens, half [Helmut] Lang. Even the palette is very [Helmut] Lang, from the pinks to the greens." Ouch. See some of the side-by-side comparisons below and be sure to sound off in the comments section ...
