Given the trying landscape for designers at the moment, some are working to cut out frivolity and put their designs center stage. Well, that was never Marc Jacobs’ style. This is the man that “defaced” the classic Louis Vuitton print for the first time in history by way of a now-iconic graffiti collaboration with Stephen Sprouse.
This is the same guy that staged over-the-top runway shows nearly every season for the Paris-based house where he was creative director from 1997 to 2014. The same one that daringly put Kendall Jenner on the runway for the first time. In short: Marc doesn’t play by the rules and he certainly isn’t conventional. So, it should come as little surprise that Lady Gaga, fresh from the Grammys, where she wore custom Marc Jacobs, will join models, Stella Lucia, Hanne Gaby, Binx Walton, Grace Hartzel, Kendall Jenner, Lexi Boling, and Peyton Knight, amongst others, to walk in the designer’s Fall/Winter 2016 show in New York tonight.
