My new favorite site, Isaac Likes, is pretty great. Case in point: its coverage of the Shipley & Halmos NYC pop up shop on Canal Street. A little background on Canal Street for those of you who aren't familiar with it, courtesy of Isaac: "[It] is the home of New York's counterfeit black market. You can't walk two steps without someone trying to sell you something fake (usually a Rolex watch or Louis Vuitton handbag), and every boutique in the vicinity is either schilling $10 I Heart NY tees, $2 key-chains, or terrible $50 perfumes." In addition to stocking the brand's Spring/Summer 2014 collection, the pop up shop is offering some clever takes on Canal Street culture (think: "a wall of perfumes titled TANNG SPORT, When a Mandarin Loves a Woman, and Eve's St L'Orange (however all three are the same amazing-smelling citrus fragrance created by D.S. & Durga, and sell for $120)). See Isaac's coverage of the pop up here (and while you're there, be sure to check out his post about the decline of fashion criticism - its on point!) and let us know what you think of the shop if you stop by! It is open until February 23rd.
