We caught up with a handful of the Wilhelmina-represented male models who walked the runways during New York Fashion Week and spoke with them about getting scouted, the Spring/Summer 2015 shows, why they love New York, and more. Up first: go-to Givenchy face, Chris Moore, who was fresh off the Givenchy Spring/Summer 2015 runway in Paris.
Hometown: Raleigh, NC
I was scouted … when I was 15 on Christmas Eve. I was at Chick-fil-A in the mall. I met with a few different agencies but ended up with Wilhelmina because I felt like they were the most excited about me and wanted me the most!
Did you think you were “model material” prior to being scouted? No. I was really focused on sports and trying to fly planes. Modeling was a curveball for me.
Craziest thing that happened during NYFW: The week before I got hit in the face in the mosh pit at a concert, and then later that week, I got in a bike accident.
Now that NYFW is over … I'm going to start working out and get my body in shape for campaign season. I might go on a few trips and see my family.
About that Givenchy campaign [Moore was the face of Givenchy's S/S 2012 campaign alongside Simone Nobili, Gisele and Mariacarla Boscono] … It really gave me a spot in fashion. I’ve walked for them for six seasons since then.
I love NYC because … of how spontaneous it is. There are unlimited opportunities here and NYC really gives results if you put your heart into whatever you are doing.
Right now I’m obsessed with: Music. I am always obsessed with that, actually, and my motorcycle. I can’t wait for it to be fixed so I can start riding again.
