Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian recently released the fifth offering of their Kardashian Kollection with UK-based retailer Lipsy. While Kim praises the trio's Autumn/Winter 2014 line, saying: "I think this is probably my favorite collection yet. The clothes are really cool," we cannot help but notice some rather obviously similarities. And it would not be the first time to reality TV sisters looked elsewhere for inspiration. You may recall that purse range they released under the Kardashian Kollection name, which was essentially a collection of glorified Balenciaga, Chloe, Proenza Schouler and Chanel copies.
We aren't the only ones to have noted such "inspiration." Of the collection, The Independent recently wrote: "This time Kim and her sisters have added a high-fashion touch," and that inspiration comes directly from New York-based brand, Cushnie et Ochs. A go-to brand for celebrities and the fashion crowd alike, Kim Kardashian stepped out in a crop top from the brand's Pre-Fall 2012 collection. So, what exactly did the Kardashians copy?
While the two Kardashian Kollection dresses (which also come in red and cream) are slightly different from the Cushnie et Ochs originals, an argument may be made that the KK versions were altered just enough to avoid being labeled as line-for-line copies, but that is very much up for debate. Considering that Cushnie et Ochs is known for its signature cutouts and novel necklines, I think the reality TV sisters are certainly trying to channel the NYC-based brand's look.
