The latest round of creative director musical chairs has another player: Alessandra Facchinetti is leaving her position as Creative director of Italian design house Tod's, according to the Independent. Facchinetti said in a company statement she would "focus on other projects ... put aside in order to be able to achieve Tod's strategies."
After a stint at Valentino, Facchinetti joined Tod’s in February 2013, replacing Derek Lam. In 2007, she was appointed the creative director at Valentino, but was dismissed a year later despite early praise, allegedly because she did not draw enough on Valentino's archives. Facchinetti also did time at Gucci on the heels of Tom Ford's tenure in the 2000's.
