Yesterday, a spokesperson for Yves Saint Laurent announced that the French house is banning all photographers from the showing of Hedi Slimane's first two collections (women's resort and spring menswear). How Tom Ford of them! Apparently, only buyers will be invited to the showings in July or August. The first public showing of Slimane's designs for YSL will show at Paris Fashion Week this fall. While Tom Ford shunned photographers for exclusivity purposes, YSL noted that the upcoming two collections are "transitional," as Slimane just replaced former creative director, Stefano Pilati in February. And so, Slimane’s tenure is proving to be quite interesting from the start. Stay tuned!
