On the heels of exclusively partnering with Lady Gaga’s Haus Laboratories to bring the singer-slash-Oscar winner’s budding new collection to consumers “in nine countries on three continents, including the U.S., France and Germany, thereby, making the beauty venture the first major beauty brand to launch exclusively on Amazon, the e-commerce giant has another big-name partner to boast: Rihanna. The singer-slash-retail mogul announced on Monday that she is going beyond the traditional fashion show set up and working with Amazon for a Savage X Fenty special, which will debut next month.
In an Instagram post on Monday, Rihanna revealed that she is working on “creating the most bold, sexy, super energetic experience you can imagine” in connection with this season’s offerings from her Savage X Fenty lingerie collection. The impending Amazon special will give Amazon Prime subscribers “a behind-the-scenes look at exactly how this year’s show came together through the eyes of Rihanna, who served as an executive producer for the runway documentary,” per Billboard. The special, itself, will make Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty runway show – which will take place during New York Fashion Week on September 10 – available for fans and consumers in more than 200 countries to stream.
“Rihanna has conquered the worlds of music, film, beauty and fashion,” Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke stated on Monday. “She has re-invented the idea of what fashionable lingerie should be for a global customer. The brand authentically reflects empowering statements of inclusivity, body positivity and fun. The Savage X Fenty Show promises to be a ground-breaking and truly unique experience and we’re thrilled to give our global customers an exclusive front row seat.”
